On Tuesday August 24, both Yuba and Sutter County Boards of Supervisors cancelled public meetings with more Covid excuses. Nearly 100 citizens took time off work and gathered outside the normal meeting places to protest both vaccine mandates and passports.
After over a year of zoom-only “gatherings,” now public meetings are cancelled if a supervisor knows someone that’s sick, was around someone that’s sick, is sick or looks sick. If supervisors still can’t pass a Covid IQ test maybe they should resign. The truth is the gold standard not Covid protocols based on tooth fairy junk-science.
Public meetings are occasionally adjourned in memory of the dead, but now supervisors play dead to hide from the public. Zoom meetings protect elected officials from being personally confronted by constituents for their short-comings and shenanigans. Ditching the public meeting violates the Constitution, statutes and certainly the need for transparency to curb corruption. People want to see not just hear from afar. Most people cannot access Zoom technology.
Please guys don’t play the Covid card again. The edges are frayed and you just look really stupid. Put your big boy pants on to welcome the public to meet with you. That’s your job.
Yuba County closed its next meeting to the public as well because the County Clerk needed the board chambers. Citizens pay millions of dollars to build, maintain and cool hundreds of thousands of feet of county buildings. The supervisors could not meet in another room in the government center? Or how about the third floor of the court house where Supervisors met for decades? Or how about using the water agency building? Supervisors just don’t put a priority on the concerns of constituents.
So much of government service is designed to cater to the officials and the employees. For example, Supervisors meet and 9 am (Yuba) and 3 pm (Sutter), when most citizens are working. You could not keep a private business open with the lack of service and difficult policies of most departments. Business caters to customers, government is self-serving. (That said--- there are exceptional government employees and agencies out there as well.)
The Covid-fraud allowed government people to be paid to stay home and in some instances receive bonuses. This Covid Reset advanced the socialist state to centrally manage everything. And it furthered the goal by labeling as nonessential and breaking the spirit of small businesses. Why? They are the backbone of American independence, freedom and resistance to tyranny. For the Great Reset to occur they have to go.
The big box stores are already communist, state-run businesses. Along with local government, big businesses are policy and monetary prostitutes for state pimps. True Americans will forfeit comfort for freedom and will resist government bondage that comes with a bribe. Local Supervisors sacrificed their constituents’ livelihoods, freedom and health for CARES money.
Citizens were forced to be locked down like prisoners and go broke. Meanwhile, government departments closed or demanded citizens shamefully wear napkins over their faces. Oh yes and conform to 6 foot distances to allow the Covid demons to pass through unhindered. How superstitious and demeaning.
Once a free people, Americans today nearly have to raise their hand for permission from government to piss. All the while all those permit, license and fee collecting departments played hard to get by locking their doors for Covid. Drug addicts could rot in the river bottoms while Behavioral Health counselors hid from Covid but got their drug treatment money anyway.
We have become accustomed to the government plantation. This is 1776 again. How bad do you want your freedom? It is going to cost you. Or maybe you are comfortable with communism.
